Triennial Kortrijk presents contemporary art by both Belgian and international artists, with a strong focus on gender equality and a balanced mix of emerging, mid-career, and established artists. The programme appeals to a wide audience: from casual passers-by and curious newcomers to devoted admirers and connoisseurs deeply engaged with contemporary art.
By presenting art in an accessible and inspiring way, Triennial Kortrijk not only fosters greater affinity with art but also encourages visitors to view the world differently, to think critically and to discover new perspectives.
Triennial Kortrijk invites visitors to (re)discover the beauty of the city. The rich history of Kortrijk serves as a guiding thread throughout the art trail. Both well-known and lesser-known heritage sites open their doors to contemporary art, while the trail also winds through newly developed city parks, squares, and streets that have undergone major transformations in recent years. During the triennial, visitors experience Kortrijk as a city in full transformation, where history and renewal reinforce one another through contemporary art.
Each edition of Triennial Kortrijk is built around a relevant theme that not only highlights contemporary art but also deepens visitors’ social engagement.
