Triennial Kortrijk 2027

After the successful editions PLAY, Paradise, and After Paradise, Triennial Kortrijk is preparing for the fourth edition of its contemporary art trail, which will take place from 26 June to 3 October 2027.

Patrick Ronse, who has been the artistic lead of the triennial from the very beginning, will once again be on board as curator. As artistic director of Be-Part, Platform for Contemporary Art in Waregem and Kortrijk and long-time partner of Triennial Kortrijk, he co-founded the triennial and helped define its DNA.

For this edition, he will be joined by co-curator Barbara De Coninck, who brings extensive experience in artistic production, curatorial support, and international collaboration. Her literary background and distinct authorial voice provide a clear added value. Together, they aim to further develop the triennial into a leading international art festival, as stated in Kortrijk’s governance agreement.

In addition, Anke D’Haene will once again take on the role of project coordinator. Building on her experience and involvement in the previous editions, she and the triennial team provide a strong and well-conceived foundation for the festival.

The DNA of Triennial Kortrijk remains unchanged: an open and accessible festival presenting both new productions and loans by Belgian and international artists. Accessibility remains key–through dynamic, visually engaging artworks and educational components that offer deeper insight. The programme unfolds across public spaces and remarkable heritage sites, both well-known landmarks and hidden gems. As always, the route invites visitors to explore new corners of the city and discover recent urban developments.

In 2027, we hope to surpass the impressive results of the 2024 edition, which recorded 492,008 visits across 14 locations, with 46,622 unique visitors purchasing a ticket.

Look back on the 2024 edition: After Paradise

On 6 October 2024, the Triennial Kortrijk, with the theme “After Paradise”, officially came to a close. The city festival (organised by the City of Kortrijk in collaboration with Be-Part), which uses art as a guide to lead visitors to various locations throughout the city, brought a new dynamic to Kortrijk.
